Welcome to the Dark Peak, which is the first taste of upland England for the northbound traveller. The Peak District is the worlds second most visited National Park - yet there are areas where Id be astonished to come across another soul, even though its hardly a vast tract of land. Here you'll find a reasonable introduction to this splendid place. Click around the map below to view photos and to discover more about different areas.
